Leon Wieseltier describes himself as "the kind of liberal whom many neo-conservatives like to despise."

Wieseltier, who is literary editor of The New Republic magazine, wrote an impassioned letter urging the judge to show mercy to I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby at his sentencing Tuesday.

"There's more to life than politics," Wieseltier says of his letter. He talks with Alex Chadwick.
