More than one third of the country is experiencing drought, even before summer has arrived. A record dry spell for California and Arizona is spreading into 11 other states. The Southeast, for example, has had its driest spring since record-keeping began in 1895. Sam Eaton of Marketplace talks with Madeleine Brand.
