Hamas Seizes Control of the Gaza Strip

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has declared a state of emergency in Gaza. The United States, along with parts of Europe and Israel are considering support for Abbas in Gaza and on the West Bank where his Fatah-led government remains in control.

Clayton Swisher, director of programs at The Middle East Institute in Washington, and Osama Siblani, of Arab American News, offer analysis on the latest developments.
