Pop singer Ari Gold prides himself on crossing boundaries, and his journey to the limelight has been far from ordinary.

Musically "discovered" while singing at his brother's bar mitzvah at the tender age of 5, the Bronx native soon realized what he wanted: to be a star. Gold was set on pursuing his passion. He and his brothers received the top prize at the First Annual Jewish Children's Song Festival, placing Gold on the path to childhood stardom.

But his Orthodox Jewish roots have been the source of some concern. Not everyone of his faith supports his life as a gay man, or as a pop singer. Nevertheless, Gold remains open about his sexuality and his religion.

The budding pop star and graduate of New York University is witnessing his dreams becoming reality. Gold's talent and appeal are pushing his career, with a sound ranging from R&B to techno-dance-pop. His music video for "Love Will Take Over" recently bumped pop culture icon Madonna from the top spot on MTV LOGO's "Ultimate Sexiest Video" list.

Gold opens up about being gay, his Orthodox Jewish background and the passion that drives his music.
