Soundscape : Tibet

Last October, a reporting team from the NPR/National Geographic program Radio Expeditions traveled to the high mountains of Western China, near the Tibetan border. What they found was a pocket of traditional Tibet, in virtual suspended animation. NPR engineer Bill McQuay recorded the sounds of a place some people describe as Shangri-la.
