Signs
Commentator Jonathan Kranz says markers in his town commemorating the prominent people and events of the past are important reminders of the working people who once lived there. The community has changed. Trains passing through now carry commuters rather than goods from the town's factories. Without the signs, he says, it would be easy to see the privilege of the town without understanding how it came to be.
