Senate to Vote on Coal Industry Subsidies
The fossil fuel industry found itself on the losing side of major energy policy votes Tuesday in the Senate, now controlled by Democrats. A Senate panel voted to revoke billions of dollars in tax breaks for big oil and gas companies in favor of funding for renewable energy projects. And the full Senate voted against proposals for extracting liquid diesel fuel from coal.
