Jobless In December: A State-By-State Look

Jobless rates increased in 43 states and the District of Columbia in December, the Labor Department reported. Rates decreased in four states and were unchanged in three. The nation's highest unemployment rate was in Michigan, at 14.6 percent. The national jobless rate was 10.0 percent in December.
