Farm Protection

NPR's Cheryl Corley reports on a farmland protection program in Kane County, Illinois, northwest of Chicago. The purpose is to keep suburban sprawl from gobbling up farms. The county is paying farmers to keep growing crops, or, in some cases, buys the land from one farmer and sells it to another.
