Hybrid Cars

Jerome Vaughn from member station WDET in Detroit reports that both automakers and environmentalists are cheering President Bush's proposed tax credits for fuel efficient vehicles. But these so-called 'hybrid' vehicles still lack the performance capabilities of standard cars, making critics skeptical that tax incentives alone will significantly increase the number of hybrids sold in the U.S.
