ARI SHAPIRO, host:
Good morning. I'm Ari Shapiro with a giant zucchini to the rescue.
The town of New Harmony, Indiana, needs to raise more than $16,000 to repair its historic clock tower. Sally Roth decided to help by auctioning off a monster squash. Strangely enough, no other giant zucchinis are listed on eBay, said Roth. She told the Evansville Courier Press newspaper, the winning bidder can make zucchini bread, pickles, chocolate cake or re-release it into the wild.
It's MORNING EDITION.
