Houston Symphony

Scott talks with Aurelie Desmarais, senior director for artistic planning at the Houston Symphony Orchestra. This week, the Symphony tried to salvage the contents of its music library. Thousands of musical manuscripts were submerged in the flood waters of Tropical Storm Allison. The orchestral piece heard in this story is Symphony No. 11 by Dmitri Shostakovich. It was recorded by the Houston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leopold Stokowski for EMI Records (S-60228).
