Patients Bill of Rights

NPR's Steve Inskeep reports Senate Democrats beat back an amendment to the Kennedy-McCain version of a so-called "Patients Bill of Rights" today, perhaps indicating the bill will pass the Senate in a matter of days. Senator Phil Gramm (R-TX) proposed exempting employers from lawsuits stemming from employees' health care disputes. But it got only 43 votes.
