La Raza

The National Council of La Raza, the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights organization, begins its annual conference today in Milwaukee. Organizers say the theme of this year's conference — "The Heartland of America" — will demonstrate the mounting influence of America's Hispanic community. NPR's Phillip Martin reports.
