China's Railway to Tibet

NPR's Rob Gifford reports China is in the process of building a railroad through some of its harshest terrain, to reach the remote region of Tibet. The Chinese government says the project will bring economic development to Tibet. But those who say Tibet should rightfully be independent of China see the railroad as a way for Beijing to strengthen its hold on the region.
