Day Laborers

Day laborers — those mostly immigrant workers who stand at street corners hoping to be picked up for a day's work are meeting in Los Angeles this weekend at what's being called the first national conference for day laborers, workers and their advocates. NPR's Mandalit del Barco reports on the group's efforts to improve their working conditions.
