Stem Cells

Many scientists believe stem cells taken from human embryos eventually will be used to heal damaged hearts, brains and spinal cords. But researchers are a long way from realizing these goals. NPR's Richard Knox visited two labs in Boston where early stem cell experiments are under way. He found scientists excited about their work so far, but unsure whether stem cell treatments will live up to public expectations.
