Paint the Moon

Scott talks with James Downey of Columbia, Missouri. On two evenings this coming fall, Mr. Downey hopes to coordinate a massive effort to point thousands of hand held laser pointers at the Moon. If the plan works, Mr. Downey hopes a red dot will appear on the Moon and be visible from Earth. Scientists are skeptical. Mr. Downey is promoting the project on the Web at
