The Federal Reserve Board cited continued weakness in the U.S. economy as it trimmed a key interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point today. Striving to prevent a recession, Fed policymakers have cut interest rates seven times this year. The Fed also signaled it is prepared to do more to bolster the economy. NPR's Jim Zarroli reports.
