September 14, 2009Skillfully combining layers of electric and acoustic guitar, keys, bluesy bass and Petter Ericson Stakee's captivating vocals, Alberta Cross' approach to music is evidently a thoughtful one. Currently residing in New York, Alberta Cross has taken incredible strides to earn global recognition.

After releasing their EP, The Thief & The Heartbraker, the quintet was met with a wave of critical acclaim. Their blues rock style often leads to comparisons with other blues-influenced bands, such as The Raconteurs, Black Keys and Kings of Leon. But what has really established Alberta Cross is the roots-rock quintet's ability to wrap each song in warm nostalgia. The band is so familiar and refreshing, it's easy to forget that they have yet to release their debut full-length album, Broken Side of Time.
