Shooting Planes

NPR's Steve Inskeep reports that President Bush has authorized two mid-level Air Force generals to order the shooting down of hijacked commercial jets if they were deemed a threat to urban centers. The Bush administration has given the generals power to decide to shoot a hijacked jet without having to consult with him.
