NPR's Michele Kelemen reports that Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Charlotte Beers, launched a new phase in the battle for the hearts and minds of Muslims around the world. Beers, a long-time advertising executive, issued a glossy booklet today about the Sept. 11 attacks and their aftermath. The booklet is to be distributed by embassies around the world and put on the Internet. Beers is also releasing a short video to counter what she sees as the emotional and irrational propaganda coming from the Osama bin Laden camp.
