NPR's Tom Gjelten reports the Pentagon has told the Northern Alliance leaders the United States would like access to Taliban and al Qaeda detainees. The U.S. officials also denied knowing any detainees in U.S. custody, and said they had no knowledge of the reported U.S. capture of al Qaeda official Ahmed Omar Abdel Rahman. Rahman is the son of a cleric jailed in the United States for the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center.
