NPR's Sarah Chayes in Pakistan reports travelers arriving from Afghanistan say conditions are worsening in the southern city of Kandahar, the Taliban's last stronghold, which is under attack by the U.S. warplanes and under siege by anti-Taliban guerrilla forces.
