NPR's John Ydstie reports manufacturing has been hit especially hard in the current recession. Manufacturers were the first to notice the economic downturn and they say they have been in a recession for more than a year. Ydstie travels to South Carolina and finds some industries are upbeat about the future while others are convinced that the jobs they are losing won't be coming back.
