Set List

  • "Black Tables"
  • "End of the Year"
  • "Paper Cities"

From Stillwater, Okla., the chamber-folk ensemble Other Lives has existed in its current configuration for a couple years — it began as a larger group named Kunek. Lead singer Jesse Tabish plays piano and guitar, with Josh Onstott on bass and mellotron, Jenny Hsu on cello, Jonathon Mooney playing violin, organ, piano and guitar, and Colby Owens on drums.

Here, the group performs three songs from its self-titled debut, released this past April. Other Lives' epic, string-laden music has made it onto two prominent television shows, and the band has opened for Bat for Lashes, Elvis Perkins and The Decemberists.

This segment originally aired on October 6, 2009.
