Political Season

Members of Congress won't return from their month-long recess until later this month, but a few Democrats already seem ready to rumble. This past Friday, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle gave a speech castigating President Bush's handling of the economy - words that effectively rang the opening bell on the fight over the economic stimulus package this session. Bush's dramatic response soon followed. Liane speaks with Doyle McManus, Washington bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times, and NPR Senior Correspondent Juan Williams.
