India flexed its military muscles today by test-firing a missile seen as the linchpin of its nuclear capability. Pakistan criticized the launch, saying it could further destabilize the already tense region. The neighbors each have massed hundreds of thousands of troops along their common border. India accuses Pakistan of harboring Islamic terrorists seeking independence for the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir. NPR's Michael Sullivan reports from New Delhi.
