Langston Hughes

The poet and novelist Langston Hughes was born on this date in 1902. He was an important figure during the Harlem Renaissance and beyond. From the Smithsonian Folkways CD, The Voice of Langston Hughes, we hear a recording of Hughes reading his poem "The Weary Blues."
