Robert Cray leads his band through a set of tunes from his latest album, This Time — as well as his signature hit, "Smoking Gun" — in his third appearance on Mountain Stage. This Time is Cray's first studio release on his own Nozzle Records, following 2006's Live From Across the Pond.

For This Time, Cray and his longtime collaborator, keyboardist Jim Pugh, welcomed back bassist Richard Cousins, a member of Cray's band from 1974 to '91, and drummer Tony Braunagel of the diverse, Taj Mahal-backing Phantom Blues Band.

"We're part of the Woodstock generation," Cray says, introducing "Love 2009." "It's 40 years later, and this is from the soul side."

This segment originally aired on October 12, 2009.
