October 16, 2009Though it often gets pegged as an alt-country band of one stripe or another, Lucero prides itself on fusing together a broad enough assortment of influences to sound like nothing else. Naturally, though, influences like Bruce Springsteen inevitably shine through. Click the link above to hear Lucero perform live in concert from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.

Since the release of the 2005 breakthrough Nobody's Darlings, Lucero has expanded its lyrical and musical palette, in the process advancing to the forefront of the Memphis rock scene. Playing 150 to 200 live shows a year, the legendarily hard-working band has attracted a small army of diehard fans and released half a dozen well-received albums. The latest, 1327 Overton Park, functions as a soulful love letter to Lucero's hometown.
