Gumby, 'Present at the Creation'

When Gumby creator Art Clokey was going to film school in the 1950s, he thought he'd work with live actors — not clay ones. But Clokey was soon molding his little green character into a TV star, Harriet Baskas reports for Morning Edition. Gumby's story is told as part of NPR's Present at the Creation series.
