October 27, 2009 - The Scottish duo The Proclaimers first visited Mountain Stage in March 1994, around the time its infectious song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" had become one of the biggest hits in the world. Here, identical twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid return in 2009 to perform a career-spanning batch of songs, including one from their eighth studio album, Notes and Rhymes.

They open with "Letter From America," from their 1987 debut, followed by a cover of George Jones' "Burn Your Playhouse Down," written by Lester Blackwell. Also included is "Sunshine on Leith," the title track to the 1988 album that first featured "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," five years before it came to prominence in the soundtrack to the film Benny & Joon.

The Proclaimers will tour in Australia and New Zealand throughout November in support of Notes and Rhymes.
