October 28, 2009 - From the musical hotbed of Austin, Texas, comes the garage-soul revivalist Black Joe Lewis and his band The Honeybears. Inspired by the likes of James Brown & The JBs, the group plays punchy R&B with searing, horn-drenched songs about women, bosses and everything else that inspires good soul music. This refreshingly retro performance features songs from the band's debut full-length, Tell 'Em What Your Name Is.

Joe Lewis leads the way on vocals and guitar, joined by The Honeybears' Zach Ernst on guitar, Bill Stevenson on bass, Matt Strmiska on drums, Jason Frey on tenor sax and Derek Phelps on trumpet.

Mountain Stage pianist Bob Thompson performs "Come Rain or Come Shine" to close out the segment.
