FDA Funding

Pharmaceutical companies subsidize the Food and Drug Administration by paying fees to have new drugs tested. Now, Congress may nearly double those fees, and consumer groups are worried that would give drug companies too much influence over the agency that is supposed to regulate them. NPR's Joanne Silberner reports.
