Israeli Settlements

NPR's Peter Kenyon reports on the continued expansion of Israel's West Bank settlements. An Israeli human rights group says the settlements now effectively control more than 40 percent of the land in the occupied territories. Some settlers, fearful of attacks by Palestinians, have begun to leave their West Bank communities. But others insist the West Bank is an integral part of the Land of Israel and must remain under Jewish control. (8:00) View photos.
