NPR's Linda Wertheimer grew up in the Southwest. She has a strong connection with the people, the places and the tastes of the region. She was in Tucson, Ariz., recently, where she visited a tamale factory. Tamales are ubiquitous in the Southwest -- a hallmark of family events and holidays.
