Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is meeting with President Bush today to discuss plans for dealing with the conflict in the Middle East. Mr. Bush says he will soon make a statement on U.S. policy there. NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports that the meeting comes as Arab nations offer proposals for reviving the peace process - proposals that include calls for a Palestinian state. Sharon is expected to counter them. (4:04)
