Host Susan Stamberg talks with NPR's Michael Sullivan about Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's efforts to avert a potential war between India and Pakistan. Rumsfeld is in New Delhi today meeting with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He says that both sides have acted responsibly, but intelligence indicates virtually no change in the tense standoff between the nuclear-armed countries.
