Memories of Alan Lomax

Folklorist Alan Lomax traveled the world, tape machine in hand, documenting everyday activities of ordinary people. Now, following his death, many are remembering their own lives through the recordings that Lomax made. Lomax's tapes take Mary Latucca back to a Scottish schoolyard in 1951. She tells Robert Siegel about it. (8:00) The recordings of the Scottish schoolyard can be found on a CD from The Alan Lomax Collection entitled World Library of Folk and Primitive Music Volume Three: Scotland. It's on the Rounder Records Label, CD #1743. See http://www.rounder.com.
