As many struggle to cope with the slumping economy, America's cities have to tighten their budgets as well. Drops in travel, businesses closing and the deflated dot-com bubble have wounded places like New York City, whose economy was already hurt by the Sept. 11 attacks. NPR's Jason Beaubien reports on the city's efforts to cope with a growing deficit.
