Amber Alert

NPR's Kathy Lohr reports on the Amber Alert system, which helped officials locate two missing girls kidnapped last week in California. Now the federal government and lawmakers are eager to get similar alert programs instituted nationwide. Amber Alert is a system that coordinates media and law enforcement agencies to give communities fast information about missing children so they can help in the search.
