Foster Care

States have little money to back programs that are designed to prepare foster children for the responsibilities of adulthood. Seletia Venable was one of the relatively few foster children to get into an independent living program. Nadia Sarkis talks with Seletia about being an abused child, and becoming an adult through the independent living program. The report was originally produced as part of NPR's Next Generation radio training project.
