On Sept. 11, Professor Richard Berthold walked into his University of New Mexico classroom and said something he now considers "very stupid." As NPR's Claudio Sanchez reports, the remark nearly cost him his job and was one of several incidents on campuses around the country that raised new questions about the meaning of academic freedom.
