Sandy Koufax

Host Scott Simon talks with author Jane Leavy about the great Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax. Besides being the only pitcher in history to have pitched four no-hitters in four consecutive seasons, Leavy says that Koufax remains one of the classiest guys ever to play the game of baseball. Ms. Leavy's new book is called Sandy Koufax: A Lefty's Legacy (HarperCollins). [Note: The audio contains an ethnic slur, recounted as the author quotes from an incident during Koufax's career.]
