NPR's Michele Kelemen reports on the enormous challenge facing Colombia's new President Alvaro Uribe as he tries to reduce the factional violence in Colombia. President Uribe meets today at the White House with President Bush. They'll discuss how the two countries can better cooperate in combating the illegal drug trade and terrorism.
