A California auto plant is shutting down as freight containers filled with mechanical parts, electronics, and transmissions needed for assembly sit in West Coast ports. The fifth day of the dockworkers lockout continues after shipping companies accused the employees of staging work slow-downs. Dockworkers have agreed today to meet with a federal mediator to help resolve the dispute. NPR's Laura Sydell reports.
