NPR Senior News Analyst Daniel Schorr was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences on Saturday, but he held some reservations about being viewed as a representative for the world of journalism. In comments adapted from his acceptance speeech, he laments that journalism, with some notable exceptions, has become increasingly oriented toward entertainment and scandal and that the business of "media" has become too focused on ratings and profit.
