A candidate from the left, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won Brazil's runoff presidential election yesterday. He defeated centrist candidate Jose Serra. Lula has pledged to stick to prudent economic policies and help revitalize capital markets. NPR's Martin Kaste reports.
