Intelligence Post Seen as Thankless Job

The number two job in U.S. intelligence has been vacant for more than a year.

During that time, a number of potential candidates have been approached for the job, but there is still no word that it has been filled.

Intelligence watchers say the perception that the job is a thankless one may be the reason for the delay.
